- Tournament returned to the Race to Dubai in 2022
The Soudal Open, the Belgian stop on the DP World Tour’s global schedule and the most important international golf tournament in Belgium, will remain on the calendar for at least three more years.
Organiser Golazo and title partner Soudal have renewed their partnership until 2027. The Soudal Open will continue to be held at the Rinkven Golf Club in Schilde.
Golf has a rich and long tradition in Belgium for more than hundred years, where national and international stars have participated in the Belgian Open since the first edition 1910.
The 2024 tournament, watched by more than 15,000 fans, was won by Spain’s Nacho Elvira who finished one shot clear of Belgian Thomas Pieters, Denmark’s Niklas Nørgaard and Frenchman Romain Langasque.
Next year’s Soudal Open will be held from May 22– 25, 2025, with players competing at Rinkven Golf Club for a prize purse of $2.5 million.
Belgian golf has experienced an impressive upswing in recent years, and the strong development of the Soudal Open, has certainly provided an additional boost.
In recent years, Belgian players have impressed on the international golf scene. Led by Nicolas Colsaerts and Thomas Pieters as past Ryder Cup players, Thomas Detry is impressive on the global stage and he recently finished fourth at the USPGA and 14th at the US Open, two of the 2024 major championships.
In August he and Adrien Dumont de Chassart, who has also enjoyed an impressive start to his professional career, will represent Belgian colours at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.
